Lovely location by the river. Staff very nice. Missed dinner and the manager organised toasted sandwiches even though the hotel was very busy with a weeding going on.
Wonderful location history and experience for us on our first time away.
good food comfotable beds good location
too noisy by people coming in all through the night under our window mainly young wedding guests drunk
Location was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a great place for a family get together.
My daughter's boyfriend proposed to her during dinner on Saturday night while we were having a family get together. I was very surprised that the hotel/restaurant manager did not offer any Congratulations or give them a glass of sparkling wine to celebrate their engagement. Seems like bad PR to me.
Very close to the golf course We got a substantial reduction in price. The 'normal' prive would heve been too high for the accommodation, we think.
After 9:00 pm no meals available in the bar/restaurant: kitschen closed. Not even a tosti. We played golf up to 9:00 and had do drive to Arklow to get some tosti's (by then the kitchens were closed there also).
The location was perfect for us as we were attending a sports tournament in Arklow, so we choose this hotel based on its location, not in the centre of town with lots of noise from bars etc. The hotel is set in a wonderful country with lots of natural beauty near by.
As I mentioned we wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of Arklow itself so we choose this hotel as it had a lodge beside the hotel so again we thought we would'nt be near the main bar/funation rooms with noise from people on their night out. Ho wrong we where! The lodge was perfect until around 4am the second night we where woke around 4am with other guests arriving in from their night out, who decided to continue their parting in their rooms. This went on until after 6am. We then realised there was no night porter in the lodge and I felt frightened to go out to address these people who obviously had a lot of drink taken and had total disregard for fellow guests. With us partisipating in the sports tournament was not ood for us having lost sleep. Also a big factor was we could'nt get internet signal in our room which I had read on the reviews before going.
A bit pricey for a quick break. Particularly an extra €10 for breakfast in bed
I have had much nicer breakfasts in other hotels I have stayed in. Usually there is always cereals, yogurts, breads etc from a buffet table from which you help yourself but only fruit juice offered.Hotel very busy but seemed under staffed though staff very nice.
